The Carnex Weapon System features an adjustable MRD (Magazine Retention Device) magazine carrier that allows you to fine-tune the fit, retention, ride height, and angle of your magazine carrier.
Because magazines vary in size and shape, your MRD carrier may require a small adjustment to get the retention exactly where you want it.
Adjusting Magazine Retention
The MRD uses an adjustment screw to control how tightly the carrier holds your magazine.
- Insert your magazine into the carrier.
- Locate the MRD retention adjustment screw.
- Turn the screw clockwise to increase retention.
- Turn the screw counterclockwise to decrease retention.
- Make small adjustments and test the magazine after each adjustment.
- Continue adjusting until the magazine is held securely while still allowing a smooth, consistent draw.
Avoid overtightening the MRD. The goal is to have enough retention to securely hold the magazine during normal movement without making the magazine unnecessarily difficult to remove.
Adjusting Ride Height and Cant
The Carnex magazine carrier also allows you to adjust the ride height and cant (angle) of the carrier.
Changing the position of the mounting hardware allows you to move the magazine higher or lower and change its angle. This lets you fine-tune the Carnex system for your body type, preferred draw position, comfort, and concealment.
After making an adjustment, put the Carnex on and test the position before making additional changes. Small adjustments can make a significant difference in how the system carries.
